Since the industrial revolution British business has been leading the world. From cotton to manufacturing, to today's success stories in communications and new technologies, we have always managed to create new jobs, new industries and increase wealth.rnThe need for British enterprise to excel again in today's economic climate is a given. So you'd think that collaboration between the brightest minds at our universities and businesses was booming. But in reality, university-business partnerships are infrequent. The CBI's Stepping Higher report found that less than half of its members use universities to develop their workforces.
