There is a sharp North-South divide in England, as shown by the cold colours dominating the North, and the warm reds and oranges radiating out from the whits heat of west London and the Home Counties. But there is a nuance too. England is, more accurately, an archipelago of economic regions. Within the North, there exists areas of wealth; for instance Manchester's Cheshire suburbs around Wilmslow; and the desirable residences of North Yorkshire. These regions act as local talent hubs, drawing in people who migrate shorter distances.
