Background/Aims: Insufficient lighting increases the risk of falling. Up to now only few studies have focussed on the relationship between the risk of falling and implementation of DIN and EN norms related to lighting intensity in nursing homes. Therefore, in this study the intensity of lighting at places with increased frequency of patients falling in a nursing home was investigated.
