The Kristina Regina [a) Bore b) Borea] made her final cruise in August, arriving in her home port of Kotka on August 23. Built as a steam ferry in 1960, she served various routes between Sweden and Finland, eventually being converted to a diesel-engined cruise ship in 1987. She kept her original distinctive profile with two funnels. Cruises in recent years have taken her to the Mediterranean and Red Sea in winter, and to Northern Europe in summer. She attracted mainly Finnish passengers and others who appreciated a small, traditional, family-owned cruise ship.
