摘要

The global supply chain is undergoing an unprecedented transformation as the drive for greater efficiency, lower emissions and better asset productivity combine to challenge many long-established marine business models. In January 2020, global shipping will face perhaps the most disruptive of all developments when IMO's 0.5% sulphur cap kicks in and the vast majority of ships not fitted with exhaust gas aftertreatment systems will have to switch fuels. Ships that burn traditional heavy fuel oil (HFO) with a sulphur content of 3.5% will have to use either low sulphur blends with a maximum sulphur content of 0.5%, or switch to marine diesel or distillates.
