Despite further consolidation in the continuous unloader industry, competition is, if anything, hotting up. In common with other areas of the cargo handling industry, the continuous unloader sector experienced rapid consolidation in 1998. Particularly prominent was FFE Bulk Handling Group in its attempts to offer customers a 'one stop shop' for this type of equipment. In September last year, the group completed the acquisition of Seattle-based Nicholson Docksider through American subsidiary Fuller Bulk Handling. FFE Bulk Handling Group also includes Fuller-Kovako BV of the Netherlands and Swedish company HW Carlsen.
