Some told us that planning for life among the stars is folly. Others appreciated the boldness of the researchers who dare to publicly debate the finer points of starship design. Here's a sampling. Being a "reengineered sentient machine" on a carefully selected space rock sounds like great fun. Meanwhile, here on Earth we have war, intolerance, murder, theft and hunger.
