PROJECT OLDS UPDATE

After spending the summer of 2010 putting Project Olds through its paces, we came across a couple of infamous Oldsmobile oiling issues that culminated in blowing the oil dipstick tube out of the block. After consulting with Judson Massengill at School of Automotive Machinists, we sent the motor back for a post mortem. When SAM took the motor apart, they found the counterweights on the crankshaft were creating too much windage and causing elevated crankcase pressure.
