Our July 2011 story, "History That Changed Hot Rodding," among other things contained an explanation of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol-the infamous "global warming bible"-along with our prediction that it would spur more development in engine efficiency and alternative power. Reader Dennis Moore, however, disagrees with our opinion that the jury is still out on the cause of global warming. We did some digging, and discovered Moore's work as a pleasure craft engine builder, a performance parts peddler, and author of two pleasure craft engine-building books (Big-Block Chevy Marine-Performance, and Small-Block Chevy Marine Performance/ The irony here is that while he may believe that the sky is falling, he derives his living from the recreational consumption of large amounts fossil fuel.
