The evaluation of the non-isothermal kinetic parameters of the thermal and thermo-oxidative degradation of polymers and polymeric materials f its use and abuse

摘要

The methods of evaluation of the non-isothermal kinetic parameters of the thermal and thermo-oxidative degradations of poly- mers and polymeric materials are critically analyzed. It is pointed out that only the use of a set of thermogravimetric curves recorded at different heating rates can give reliable information on the degradation mechanism and in some suitable cases, can lead to the real kinetic parameters.
