Synthesis and properties of copolymers of triazinylaminobenzotriazole stabilizers with methyl methacrylate

Copolymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) with two unsaturated UV stabilizers, triazinylaminobenzotriazole (TABT) derivatives was investigated. Chemical bonding of the stabilizer in the polymer was confirmed spectrophotometrically. Their influ- ence on the rate of copolymerization was studied. It was found that a stabilizing effect was achieved at 0.1 wt initial concentration of the compounds.
