Green space in urban areas is an important aspect that influences CO_2 absorption from several urban activities such as LPG fuel consumption, motorized vehicles transportation, and human respiration. In 2015, the area of Green Space in Malang City was 10.93% while the land area for settlements reached 36.5%. The area of Malang City is 11,006 ha, with a population density of 7.735 people / km~2. Hence, it has the potential to increase CO_2 emissions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the absorption capacity and the distribution of public green space with the level of CO_2 emission in Malang City. Quantitative descriptive method applied in this study to determine the amount of CO_2 emission load and the absorption capacity of Public Greenspace. Spatial Model Method using Arc View 10.1 Software application was used to describe and compare the adequacy of C02 and Public Greenspace distribution based on CO_2 absorption capacity in Malang City. The total COz emissions generated from the use of LPG, Motorized Vehicles and Respiration were 486,931,879,943 kg/year. The total absorptive capacity of CO_2 emissions by Public Green spacewas 64,514,004,429 kg/year. Total unabsorbed emissions were 422,417,875,514 kg / year. Increased CO_2 absorption can be done by scaling up the number of trees by considering tree species that have high CO_2 absorbing ability in the sub-district which has the highest amount of unabsorbed emissions in Malang City, such as in Kedungkandang District, Lowokwaru District, Sukun District, and Blimbing District.
