The Michigan State Police driving unit held its annual evaluation of law enforcement vehicles in September, testing 14 variants of sedans and SUVs, and seven motorcycles from BMW, Harley-Davidson, Moto Guzzi, and BRP. Testing included acceleration from zero up to 100 mph, braking from 60 mph to zero, and dynamic track testing. The dynamic track testing is a two-mile circuit that tests the vehicle's high-speed pursuit and emergency response characteristics. During the dynamic testing each vehicle is driven 32 laps with four drivers taking eight laps each.
