UK'S FIRST SERIOUS CRIME PREVENTION ORDER SERVED IN NORTHERN IRELAND

Three men and a woman all from Co. Armagh have been served with two Serious Crime Prevention Orders (SCPO), the first ever in the UK, after the four pleaded guilty to revenue evasion charges in relation to fuel fraud at Newry Crown Court recently.rnBernard Joseph Hughes, 48, and Fionnuala Kelly, 39, both from Cathedral Road, Armagh; Malachy Hughes, 54, from Portadown Road, Armagh and Michael Hughes, 58, from Castleblaney Road in Keady were all arrested and charged in November 2004, for being knowingly concerned in the fraudulent evasion of excise duty.
