Silex, Cameco sign agreement to buy GE-Hitachi Global Laser Enrichment

Australia’s Silex Systems and Canada’s Cameco have signed an agreement to buy out GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy’s 76% ownership share of GE-Hitachi Global Laser Enrichment, a company that was seeking to commercialize Silex’s technologies to produce enriched uranium, Silex said in a February 6 statement. The agreement has a tentative closing date of April 30.
