Jinchuan drops nickel price twice in week

China’s largest nickel producer Jinchuan Group ncut domestic prices of nickel by Yuan 3,000 n($456)/mt, or about 1.5%, for both its grades neffective Friday, the company said. This is nthe second cut this week and the fifth this nmonth so far. It cut prices by Yuan 9,000/mt non Wednesday, Yuan 8,000/mt on March 11, nYuan 5,000/mt on March 8 and Yuan 2,000mt on March 1. With the latest cut, the price of nJinchuan’s 9996 grade of electrolytic nickel for n4 X 4 will be Yuan 198,200/mt ex-plant, while nfull plate material will be Yuan 197,000/mt. nThe price of its 9980 grade full plate electrolytic nnickel will be Yuan 196,500/mt. The company ndid not give any reason for the latest cut.
