NRG starting 4,000 MW of coal-gas conversions

NRG Energy said Wednesday that it is poised tonbegin the first of six planned coal-to-gas conversionsnat independent power plants in the South, Midwest andnNortheast. The capacity of the six units to be converted to gasnfiring over the next two years totals more than 4,000 MW.
