Southern California Edison has completed its two solicitations forrnpower storage resources that were launched to ensure electricrnreliability despite the moratorium on injections into the Aliso Canyonrnnatural gas storage facility near Los Angeles.rnThe company on Wednesday said that the two solicitations have led tornthe signing of four contracts for 47 MW of energy storage capacity that isrnexpected to be installed and become operational before the end of this year.rnSoCal Ed has agreed to buy from Tesla a 20-MW lithium ion batteryrnsystem that will be installed at the power company’s Mira Lomarnsubstation in Ontario, California.
