Power burn in the Northeast has set fresh five-year dailyrnhighs on 12 of the 19 days this month and is primed to set a monthlyrnrecord as new gas-fired power plants push the fundamentals into newrnterritory this summer.rnRecent summers of notable power burn levels were set in 2012 andrn2015, hitting averages of 6.19 Bcf/d and 6.47 Bcf/d, respectively, whilernPlatts Bentek expects the summer of 2016 to break into a new,rnseasonal high of 6.57 Bcf/d. The five-year summer average stands atrn4.3 Bcf/d which is 1 Bcf/d below the current April average.
