PJM WH weekend deals in low $50s/MWh

Mid-Atlantic day-ahead power prices rose Friday with temperatures forecast below freezing. Weekend packages saw some strength as the grid operator issued a weekend cold weather watch. PJM weekend packages traded at a premium to the dailies. Weekend on-peak was around $51/MWh and weekend off-peak was higher at $51.25/MWh. Day-ahead on-peak rose $3 near $44.25/MWh with day-ahead off-peak up $3 to $43.50/MWh. Balance-of-the-week on-peak was near $34/MWh. Texas Eastern M-3 day-ahead natural gas jumped $1.236 to $5.111/MMBtu, the highest level since March 6, 2015.
