Independent power producers file FERC order in Illinois ZEC appeal

In a bid to sway an Illinois federal court decision on nuclear plant subsidies, an independent power producer trade group filed a recent Federal Energy Regulatory Commission order as evidence that statelevel subsidies have a negative impact on PJM Interconnection’s capacity market. The Electric Power Supply Association Thursday filed at the US Court of Appeal for the 7th Circuit in Chicago FERC’s June 29 order rejecting two proposals from PJM aimed at mitigating the effects of state-subsidized energy resources on the region's capacity market.
