Duke Energy to retire 2 NC coal units at G.G. Allen plant in North Carolina Dec. 31

Duke Energy Carolinas LLC has notified regulators that on Dec. 31 it willretire two units consisting of 434 MW of capacity at its 860-MW G.G.Allen coal-fired plant in North Carolina.The Duke Energy Corp. subsidiary on Dec. 3 filed notices of therevised retirement dates for units 2 and 4 at the Allen plant in GastonCounty, N.C., with the North Carolina Utilities Commission and thePublic Service Commission of South Carolina.
