European Investment Bank to advise Hydrogen Europe on project financing

The European Investment Bank will offer financial consultancy services to industry association Hydrogen Europe for projects it introduces, the EIB said July 29. The EIB and Hydrogen Europe have signed an agreement under which the bank will give financing advisory support on hydrogen projects, cooperate on market development initiatives and help to develop EIB financing products for renewable hydrogen, the EIB said in a statement. “Green hydrogen presents an opportunity to decarbonize industrial processes, particularly in sectors where emission reduction is urgent but difficult to achieve,” EIB President Werner Hoyer said.
