GOP energy leaders press EIA to assess impact of Biden climate targets

Top Republican lawmakers have asked the US Energy Information Administration to assess the economic impacts of President Joe Biden's ambitious climate targets, including his call to decarbonize the power sector by 2035. Biden and his Democratic allies in Congress have yet to finalize many policies to accomplish his climate goals, which include a renewed commitment under the global Paris Agreement to slash net US greenhouse gas emissions by 50% to 52% from 2005 levels by 2030.
