摘要

Exelon President and CEO Chris Crane on August 4 again apologized for actions leading up to utility subsidiary Commonwealth Edison agreeing to pay a $200 million fine to resolve a bribery investigation. He also pledged that such behavior would not occur again. "You have our commitment that we will take every possible step to earn back the confidence and trust we have lost with others," he said on a call to discuss Exelon's second-quarter financial results. "This will not happen overnight - and it will be a formidable task - but we're resolved to get there." The fine is one of the terms of an agreement ComEd reached with the US Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois to resolve a criminal investigation into a years-long effort to steer jobs and contracts to associates of a high ranking state elected official in a bid to influence legislation.
