Avangrid seeks to build 168 MW of renewables in NYISO region

Avangrid is looking to expand its operations in the New YorkIndependent System Operator region with a 78 MW wind facility and a90 MW utility-scale solar facility.The company’s subsidiaries also are asking the Federal EnergyRegulatory Commission to approve four additional projects that wouldhave combined 811 MW of wind generation capacity to be located inTexas, Oregon, Illinois and New Mexico. Two of these projects wouldsell power to large corporate clients.An Avangrid subsidiary is seeking to build and own the 90 MWMohawk solar facility — to be located in NYISO’s Zone F in MontgomeryCounty, New York— where 5.5 million MWh of wholesale power wassold in fourth-quarter 2018. Wholesale power sales in NYISO that wasreported to FERC in Q4 totaled 62.8 million MWh.
