PJM Interconnection and its members are ready to meet electricitydemand this winter, the grid operator said November 7.PJM, which oversees the power grid for all or parts of 13 mid-Atlantic and Midwestern states and the District of Columbia, said itexpects electricity demand to peak at around 134,000 MW, a figurebelow the more than 187,000 MW of resources available."We're confident that PJM will be able to serve customer demandreliably this winter," PJM Senior Vice President of Operations MichaelBryson said in a statement. "Our diverse resource portfolio, healthyreserves and strong-and-improving generator performance are assetsin operating an efficient system, and we collaborate with ourgeneration and transmission owners to prepare for the most extremecold weather scenarios."
