Japan's NRA nearly done with RFS interim storage facility safety review

The Nuclear Regulation Authority has nearly completed a safety reviewof Recyclable-Fuel Storage Co.'s interim spent fuel storage facility,moving it closer to the planned start of operations in the next twoyears, according to RFS.NRA February 17 completed the evaluation of the final part of thefacility, which will use dry casks for storage, and did not find any majorissues, the operator said in a statement that day. This followed thecompletion of the regulator’s seismic-related assessment of thefacility in November 2018.
