Bush taps ex-Massey Energy official to run DOE's fossil energy office

President Bush last week nominated former Massey Energy executive Stanley Suboleski to be the Energy Department's assistant secretary for fossil energy. DOE's Office of Fossil Energy controls a budget in excess of $560 million and deals with the department's coal, oil, and natural gas research and development. Currently, Suboleski is a private self-employed consultant. He holds a PhD in mining engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
