With more than 250,000 Louisiana electricity customers still powerlessthe morning of Sept. 9 due to the massive damage of Hurricane Ida,power demand in the Midcontinent Independent System Operatorremained light, and real-time power prices were within the usual rangefor this time of year.As of about 2:30 pm CT Sept. 9, loads in the MidcontinentIndependent System Operator, which includes almost all of Louisiana,were approaching a forecast peak of 84.3 GW.
