Day-ahead on-peak power prices jumped nearly 68% Thursday at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas' North hub, data from the Intercontinental Exchange showed, while unseasonably high wind power production was forecast to fall Friday. Power trading for on-peak hours at ERCOT North was valued in the mid-30s/MWh on ICE, up from Wednesday's settlement price of $21.82/ MWh. Real-time on-peak power for Friday leapt in value by a similar margin. Real-time off-peak power was also trading higher at ERCOT North, though at a less dramatic climb. ICE showed a weighted average in the low $20s/MWh, up about 20% from $17.75/MWh.
