Next-day prices in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas footprint were pressed lower Thursday as wind generation was expected to ramp up, while Southeast day-ahead prices continued to weaken on warm weather. North Hub next-day on-peak for Friday delivery traded in the high $20s/MWh on the Intercontinental Exchange, down about $10 from prior settlement for Thursday delivery. Wind generation during on-peak hours was expected to average 5.2 GW Thursday and 8.8 GW Friday, a jump of almost 70%. North Hub next-week on-peak prices was valued in the low $30s/MWh, likely to be propelled by higher demand expected. On the demand side, the grid operator projected daily peakload to stay little changed from 45.7 GW Thursday to 46 GW Friday, before averaging 43.3 GW over the weekend and 47.6 GW next week through April 11.
