PetroChina pushes ahead with Dalian LNG terminal

Despite its domestic economic slowdown, Chinese state-controlled oil giant PetroChina is pushing ahead with its plans to develop more LNG regasification capacity. Unlike coal and oil, where Chinese imports are expected to moderate as the economic growth rate slows, China's demand for gas is expected to continue rising. Natural gas provides only a small fraction of the country's primary energy supply and increasing its use is central to plans to limit CO2 emissions and local pollution.
