Expectations that world oil demand will recover strongly in 2010 are increasing. The International Energy Agency has raised its projection by 170,000 b/d to growth of 1.6 million b/d over the year and the US Energy Information Administration has upped its expectations from 1.08 million b/d to 1.2 million b/d. However, in its February report, OPEC projected global demand growth at 0.8 million b/d, "in line with the previous forecast", although its numbers suggest a small markdown.
