Fossil fuel independence by 2050

The Danish government has produced an Energy Strategy to 2050, which is both idealistic and pragmatic, charting an anticipated transition to a fossil fuel independent economy. Choices are being made and they are being made now. For the first time, a national government is stating that it can meet the energy demands of its citizens affordably and without recourse to 'clean coal' or nuclear.
