The EU's new legal framework for over-the-counter derivatives trading, including commodities and emissions, entered into force in August in all 27 EU countries, potentially bringing in a host of costly new regulations for energy companies. But with regulators still to define the practical details, energy companies are pushing hard on several points to minimize any negative impact on their trading activities.
