Poland's second largest hard coal miner Katowicki Holding Weglowa may close more mines if demand does not improve, CEO Roman Loj said in September. "I fear that we cannot avoid that situation, because unless demand for Polish hard coal improves, the company will have to reduce production," Loj said. "We cannot be based on working a three-day week, we will have to close some mines, but it's too early to say when."
