Pakistan to cut eastern gas supplies over winter

The Pakistan government has decided to halt gas supplies to Compressed Natural Gas stations and industries in the eastern province of Punjab for almost three months from December 15 in view of the seasonal increase in winter demand, an official from the Ministry of Petroleum announced September 24. The country's gas demand is expected to surge to 6.4 Bcf a day against total output of 4.1 Bcf/d. In summer, demand has hovered around 5.8 Bcf/d.
