Three North African states are usually mentioned inrnconnection with ensuring secure oil and gas supplies tornEurope; Egypt, Libya and Algeria. Tunisia stoppedrnexporting oil in 1999 and has never exported gas.rnMorocco has very little conventional oil and its massiverndeposits of oil shale have been exploited by pyrolysis,rnbut the economics of the process have never reallyrnbeen viable.
