After four years of extreme instability, the government ofrnPresident Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is attempting to reinvigoraterninternational confidence in the Egyptian energy sector. Thernprices paid to gas suppliers for gas sold on the domesticrnmarket are being increased, state debts to oil and gasrncompanies are being paid off and new concessions havernbeen signed. Long-term sources of imported gas are alsornbeing sought to ensure domestic supply and providernfeedstock for Egypt’s two under-used LNG plants.
