Analysts challenge Mexican gas demand forecasts

Mexico's Energy Secretariat forecasts strong natural gas demand growth for the country's power sector. The secretariat, known as SENER, forecasts gas demand growth for power generation at 2.7% a year until 2031. In its National Electric System Development Program 2017-2031 (PRODESEN), SENER expects demand to grow to 1,658,158 Tj by 2031 from 1,144,682 Tj currently.
