Alstom Hydro has signed a €70 million contract with Turkish generator Enerjisa Enerji Uretim to supply equipment to three new hydropower plants being built on the Seyhan and Goksu rivers in Adana province, southern Turkey, Alstom said December 22.rnEnerjisa Enerji Uretim is owned by Verbund of Austria and Sabanci Group of Turkey. Once completed, the hydro plants Kavsakbendi, Kopru and Menge will have a total power output of 417 MW, capable of producing 1,200 GWh/yr. Kavsakbendi will comprise 3 × 61-MW turbine generator units rated 66 MVA. Kopru will comprise 2 × 74-MW turbine generator units rated 80 MVA. Menge will comprise 2 × 43 MW turbine generator units rated 50 MVA. The three plants are due to begin commercial operation between 2010 and 2011.rnEnerjisa Enerji Uretim aims to reach installed capacity of 5,000 MW and control 10% of the Turkish power market by 2015.
