It requires upgrading of the Polish grid in the northeast, including new 400 kV lines between Ostroleka, Lomza and Narew, Milosna and Siedlce-Ujrzanow, Elk and Lomza and between Elk and the Lithuanian border. LitPol Link was set up in May 2008 as a 50:50 joint venture between PSE Operator and its Lithuanian counterpart, Lietuvos Energija.
