Day-ahead base October 5 closed at Zloty 164.23/MWh (€38.18/MWh), having been as low as Zloty 144.99/ MWh a day earlier. Wind generation was strong throughout the week, reaching highs of more than 4 GWh October 4 and 5. Temperatures in Warsaw were forecast to be 1 to 2 degrees below average at the start of week 41. November base fell 0.4% to Zloty 159.94/MWh October 5 from Zloty 160.60/MWh October 2 mainly due to low spot prices. Cal-18 increased 1% from Zloty 167.60/MWh October 2 to Zloty 169.34/MWh October 5 as carbon prices remained stable and high, squeezing the clean dark spread, one trader noted. Poland exported to Slovakia and the Czech Republic while imports via the 600 MW SwePol line and the 488 MW LitPol Link reached full capacity. Imports from Germany reached 1 GW. The average price of green certificates continued their downward trend following a growth spurt last month as players strove to meet yearly obligations. Prices decreased 6% to Zloty 38.71/ MWh October 5 from Zloty 41.27/MWh September 28.
