Consumption up 2.5% in July

Net electricity consumption in the Czech Republic increased in July for the third consecutive month, rising 2.5% on the year to 4.33 TWh in July, according to data published September 6 by the Energy Regulatory Office (ERU). A 7.3% rise in household consumption to 0.97 TWh was offered as the main reason for the increased consumption.rnConsumption in August is also expected to be higher than the same month in 2006. The country's dominant power company CEZ estimates that demand last month will have risen 2.6% year-on-year.
