Park teams up with China's Harbin

Turkey's Park Holding has signed a wide-ranging joint venture agreement with China's Harbin Electric International for the development and operation of new coal-fired power plants both in Turkey and other countries as well as coal mining ventures. In an interview published June 15 in Park Group's own daily newspaper Haberturk, Park Group board member Nedim Sener said that the new partners' first project would be a 600-MW coal-fired power plant at llgin near Konya in west central Turkey, in which Park Holding subsidiary Park Enerji holds 99.84% of the equity. According to the company's website, the plant will burn locally produced lignite.
