UK government provides GBP210 million in funding for Rolls-Royce SMR

The UK government’s Department of Business, Energy and IndustrialStrategy said in a statement Nov. 8 it had provided GBP210 million($284.6 million) in funding to a consortium led by Rolls-Royce todevelop a small modular reactor for deployment in the UK by theearly 2030s.That funding follows GBP18 million awarded to the Rolls SMRconsortium in November 2019.
