SSE’s renewable energy output reached 1.72 TWh in the second quarter of the year, 19% below plan due to reduced UK and Irish wind resource, data published in a market update showed July 22. The shortfall represented less than 4% of SSE’s annual forecast total output, the utility said. “Output of electricity from SSE’s gas-fired generation plant for the three months to 30 June was around 9% lower than in the same period in 2020, reflecting plant availability and market conditions,” it said.
