PreussenElektra acquires 3 TWh nuclear quota for Grohnde to run to January

E.ON-owned nuclear operator PreussenElektra has acquired a further 3 TWh in German nuclear production quota to allow its Grohnde reactor to run until end-January, a spokeswoman said Oct. 8. The operator remains short of quota to allow its three reactors to run until statutory closure dates by end-2021 (Grohnde, Brokdorf) and end-2022 (Isar 2). In 2019 PreussenElektra acquired 21 TWh of quota from Vattenfall at a preliminary price of Eur27.80/MWh.
