Austria approves green energy law, 27 TWh boost to 100% RES 2030

Austria's government has approved a new renewable energy law targeting 100% renewables in the power mix by 2030, with subsidies to deliver 27 TWh/year of new solar, wind and hydro generation, energy minister Leonore Gewessler said Sept. 16. Efforts are to be focused on implementation of a pledge by the coalition government for one million solar roof-tops by 2030, with new solar capacity set to contribute 11 TWh/year by 2030, the minister said. Support would be available through investment incentives and market premiums, it said.
